At the risk of aging myself, I remember telling my dad that I would never pay .50 cents for a gallon of gas. "I'll walk, first!" His all knowing, "mmhmm" seemed condescending at the time. We repeated that conversation several times throughout my life, raising the price of gas accordingly. I smiled, today, while pumping $4 gas, and thought of daddy. I never thought I'd see the day....mmhmm.
Alex Morton For as long as I've lived in BC, people who live near the border have gone to the US to fill up their tanks on cheaper gas. Not any more ... for two reasons. First ... Canadians are refusing to go to the US because of he whose name I'd rather not mention, and over the past few weeks because gas is no longer cheaper in the US ... again with the same root cause.
E. Writer I remember when gas was 1.10 when I first started driving.
Roy Scarbrough I remember when a pack of cigarettes and a gallon of gas were the same: 35 cents. I have no idea what cigarettes cost any more.
In the spirit of Women's History Month, we celebrate our sisters who have March birthdays:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Clare Booth Luce
Nancy Pelosi
Diana Ross
Among many others. Thank you, ladies!
Every year, I find something new to learn. Last year, I learned a few new crochet stitches, studied Monarch migration and took some native gardening classes. I put off learning chess...for another year. This year I'm learning about the stock market. For what it's worth, I can now say "dividend king' with authority.
bb santx What a great video! Thank you for sharing! One of my favorite garden songs, along with Morning Has Broken and my personal mantra the Cherokee Morning Song

Crocheting has been a life long hobby. I'm more of a dirt scratcher than gardener....maybe some day!
E. Writer I only grow from a potted garden. Somehow, I dislike growing directly in the ground because of potential bugs and other creatures getting into it. It gives me more control. The song is beautiful and harmonious...rhythmic.
E. Writer BB, when you get a chance, you should share some of your crocheting photos. I am a novice at crocheting. I can crochet blankets and scarves. Basically anything in a rectangular shape and haven't tried much else. I prefer a half-double stitch because I can crochet faster. I only use Bulky 6 yarn for that reason too.
bb santx I belong to a local charity stitchers group. I make scarves, wheelchair/lap and baby blankets. Like you, I like to go fast so I use a size 7 hook, except for baby blankets. I prefer double stitch.
bb santx As for gardening outside, I garden for bugs!...specifically our state bug, the Monarch butterfly.
Today is National Tell a Fairy Tale Day

I still have my Grimm's Fairy Tale book, given to me when I was about 6yo. A prized possession on my bookshelf.
"RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES!"
Who's bright idea was this movie trailer? I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the producer's boardroom meeting. I picture newspapers spread out, on a long table. Everyone is is frantically scanning the headlines. Suddenly someone rips off a section of paper, " THIS IS IT! WE MUST MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT THIS!"
Alex Morton I just want to rip up the headlines.
E. Writer Is that the name of the movie?
I'm looking for former Zoetropers. Is there a zoetrope group?
