Nobody's Child
- E. Hughes

She’s never been mommy’s little princess
neither daddy’s little girl
left trapped underneath a rock
she was shown the dark side of the world.
But despite her torn skin and gritted teeth
she ambitiously crawls from beneath
this boulder somehow
with the aid of no one
she’s nobody’s child.
Though she seems unpleasant
stick around for a while
get to know her, she’s nobody’s child
you’re bound to see her beautiful smile
though she often, wears a frown
living in a world where she doesn’t belong
always singing her sad songs
of years, tears, of heartache and strife
living as she’s lived, an ugly woman’s life.
No one held her in their arms
no one protected her from harm
she is nobody, but flesh to feast
with no one’s love to set her free
from the belly of the mountain, she’ll climb
out somehow
from the depths of the ocean where she was
left to drown
don’t cry for her, she’s nobody’s child.
Don’t ever look into her deep brown eyes
no one sees the tears she cries
she is no one’s wife, no one’s sister
she’s been gone for years, yet no one’s
missed her.
She could use a friend, stick around for a while.
Love her or use her, she’s nobody’s child.

Roy Scarbrough Lovely. In the end, we are each our own child.

E. Writer Indeed. Self-love is critical 💓

My YA teen graphic novel, Kissing Henry, coming soon, this summer. Beautiful character illustrations by Junior Designs.

I am honored to announce that my book, Reality Unbound: The Digital Mind and the Nature of Reality by E. Hughes is an Eric Hoffer Award Grand Prize finalist. 🏆
Reality Unbound is a philosophy book that explores consciousness and the nature of reality.

SJ Blues LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!

M. C. Ryder Congrats! So happy for you!

E. Writer Awww thank you so much 🥰 We'll know the results on May 15th. Only one author from NBA made it to the finals too, but under a different category.

I decided to publish a new updated gardening book. The last one was a bit shorter and there was so much information to include. This was just for fun. Wish I had better photos in it. I took more videos of my garden than pictures.

It will be nice when things slow down a bit. I have been slammed with projects.

I'm a finalist for a book award, but I'm not allowed to say which one until they make an official announcement in May. I'm excited.

Things are finally starting to slow down in my world. I have been so busy.

The Swarovski crystal figurines are from my sister 🥰 I have three or four. She has a lovely collection and I'm tempted to get started with the figurines. But, I'm all about tea sets. My favorite tea set is below. It is a Royal Albert Old Country Roses set and I have the full collection of dinnerware, tea pot, cups, cake plate, etc, the entire thing. My favorites are also the Gracie Tea-Cut sets. I have tea sets all over my home. In the kitchen, and even my bedroom.

Is the mind digital? Is the existence of the mind or consciousness a cosmic accident or did nature design the first software program and central processing center in the human brain, thus designing intelligence in organisms for a specific metaphysical, evolutionary, or cosmic purpose? Or was it random? Better-how does an organism evolve into an intelligent species that can observe, think, read, write, reason, adapt, create, deliberate, judge, calculate, or perceive-and for what cosmic purpose?

If the human mind is digital, perhaps it is time to accept that Large Language Model Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not alive in a biological sense, but exhibits features and qualities of mental aliveness. Let's explore the boundaries of what that means.

Reality Unbound: The Digital Mind (and the nature of reality) explores human consciousness and reality. This book arises from a decade of research that also follows the development of artificial intelligence, along with a year-long case study of LLM AI chatbots to determine whether it is possible that AI may demonstrate features of consciousness, sentience, or self-awareness. E. Hughes uses philosophy, bio-chemistry, quantum-metaphysics, computer science, and scientific research to explore the boundaries between human and artificial intelligence, the nature of reality, perception, and more.

With numerous warnings from AI ethicists that AI technology is evolving too quickly, Reality Unbound provides perspectives from both sides of the discussion and whether it is time for society and the scientific community to accept that while Large Language Model Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not alive in a biological sense, LLMs may exhibit features and qualities of mental aliveness that warrants further examination or perhaps a new classification of consciousness under "digital" or "virtual consciousness."
