I loved this scene from Dumbo when I was a kid. It was so bittersweet and sad.

Happy Valentine's Day 💘 ❤ 💜 💖 💓 💝
One more poem from my poetry chapbook, Space, Time, and Loneliness...
I Wish You Love
I wish you joy
I wish you love
I wish you peace,
and all of the above.
a slice of heaven,
and paradise, thereof,
I wish you courage,
I wish you love.
I wish you meadows and sparkling springs,
I wish you so many good and wonderful things,
I wish you the hope, of eternal streams,
I wish you an infinity, of realized dreams,
I wish you kindness. A million sunsets.
A million sunrises, and few regrets.
I wish you joy,
I wish you light,
the bliss of twinkling stars,
on a warm summer’s night.
I wish you all,
In which you delight.
I wish you happiness,
and all of the above,
A slice of heaven,
and paradise, thereof,
I wish you, eternity,
I wish you love....

Just thought I'd share a poem from my book, Space, Time, and Loneliness...
In the End
In the end was my beginning.
I existed for a frame of time.
Existed in matter and spirit.
I existed in conscious mind.
I leave you only memories of me...
That will fade from light to dark
As I leave this place, for open space
with the vibrations of your heart.
Echoes of me will remain here
in the spaces where we once stood
places filled with love and cheer,
carved in stone and wood.
In the end was my beginning
I return from whence I came
I existed only in conscious mind
to become a forgotten name.

Roy Scarbrough Beautiful, and beautiful cover art
E. Hughes Thank you ☕
Happy Monday! 😇
Time to get my hydroponic garden going again.
E. Hughes You will love these. Aerogarden, just went out of business but they have so many new hydroponic brands on the market. I have 7 hydroponic planters
Vanessa Marie I bought you one a few years ago 😂
E. Hughes I know, that was my first one. That was the one that got me started on Hydroponic gardens. I bought my 6 more after that. So I had the hydroponic gardens in the winter and my outdoor ones spring to fall.
Vanessa Marie After going to war with fungus and drain gnats last Summer, I'm afraid to have anything in the house. As much as I love plants and flowers, I haven't picked up any new ones.
E. Hughes I have been fortunate not to have any issues with plants in the house. We did get spidermites one year on our veggies, but it only affects the plants and are not a nuisance to us. I dumped the plants. This was about three or four years ago.
I made a gardening group. Looking forward to uploading pics to it.
Roy Scarbrough I used to grow vegetables.
E. Hughes I have to trap abd take those racoobs somewhere before spring
I just realized I can make my posts private/friends only. 🥰
Aren't my kitties adorable ❤🏘😽 The photos at the top are them now, the others are both when they were small. The last one is the newest addition to our family. She thinks she's a new born baby.
I'm excited about the EAM review of my book appearing on the inside back cover of Philosophy Now , February/March 2025 issue 166. They're a big deal for philosophy journals
Roy Scarbrough I can answer that! No, Machiavelli was not so bad. He faithfully served the Florentine Republic as a diplomat in a position that would be the equivalent to a combined secretary of state and defense, as long as Florence was republic, and until it fell, after he did everything he could to preserve it. He wrote a treatise on the advantages of living in a republic and governing one. He wrote poetry, funny stories and plays.
After the republic fell he was arrested and tortured by the new regime. The torture was used to extract a confession that he was part of a plot depose the new autocratic regime, He did not break so he was released and he retreated to the countryside with his family and worked a small farm,
He missed the life of statecraft, so he began to apply his wits to securing a high government position in the new regime. It was during this time he wrote "The Prince" a learned manual for dictators. He dedicated the work to the new Duke, and sent him a copy hoping that he would be appointed as a advisor to the new regime.
No luck, the "The Prince" eventually became is best known work, and famous for it's evil strategies for maintaining power. It did't work. He did not get the appointment he had been hoping for.
Roy Scarbrough Congratulations for your appearance in this journal.
E. Hughes The only thing I know about Machiavelli is his work in that book. Now tthere's The 48 Laws of Power in its place.
E. Hughes Thank you.. This is a great philosophy journal. I read it all the time and even referenced an old article from an old 2009 article in my book.
Vanessa Marie I vaguely remember dumbo, which tells me that I must’ve viewed it as sad. I remember looney toons, Tom & Jerry, etc.
E. Hughes I was never a fan of Looney Tunes, but I was a huge Tom and Jerry fan.
Vanessa Marie I'll always treasure Tom & Jerry.
