Roy Scarbrough who is the one on the left?

Roy Scarbrough Thanks. I'm now trying to figure out how such an interesting personality somehow never made a blip on my radar screen. I also miss David Bowie. What an artist. I thought Prince was awesome that time he played a solo to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" for the George Harrison tribute show.

Roy Scarbrough I was thinking about these three as I was going about my chores. Each practiced what the respected literary critic Stephen Greenblatt called "self fashioning", which can be traced to Shakespeare and the renaissance. It involves artfully cultivating a personality that you present to the world. Ziggy Stardust was clearly beyond the norm, so if you appreciated David Bowie's music, which was no so afar from popular rock in it's day, you better be okay with Ziggy. Ground Control to Major Thom...put your helmet on and take your protein pills...

E. Writer Whenever I think of Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, I always think of the movie, The Velvet Goldmine with Ewan McGregor and Jonathan Rhys Meyer (sp?). It was a fictionalized account of Lou Reed and David Bowie. It was interesting in that, the subtext was that David Bowie wasn't authentic. But Lou was.

NOOOOOOO :(
