Happy Heavenly Birthday to Carroll O’Connor on what would have been his 102nd. Born on August 2, 1924, his role of Archie Bunker brought to light the irony and ignorance of racism and general intolerance in 1970’s society. It’s a shame to see those hateful traits making such a strong comeback in some recessing societies of the world today. Thank you for your bravery in relaying this message back in the day, HBD & RIP.

Butch Vig was born August 2, 1955, in Viroqua, Wisconsin.

Vig is a record producer, musician, and songwriter best known for producing some of the most influential rock albums of the 1990s. A Wisconsin native, he produced Nirvana's landmark album Nevermind, which helped bring grunge music into the mainstream and became one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Throughout his career, Vig has also produced albums for artists including Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Foo Fighters, and Sonic Youth. In addition to his production work, he is the drummer and a founding member of the alternative rock band Garbage, known for hits such as "Stupid Girl," "Only Happy When It Rains," and "I Think I'm Paranoid."

Widely regarded as one of rock's most influential producers, Vig has helped shape the sound of modern alternative music for more than four decades.
