E. Writer I loved Star Wars but disliked star trek immensely. I did enjoy the new star trek movies, quite a bit.

Alex Morton I only liked the original Star Trek, although when you watch it you realize what a ham William Shatner is. He played Captain Kirk at times as if he were doing Shakespeare. But, I still liked it a lot. And it was the first tv series that had a totally mixed cast which directly contradicted the discriminatory attitudes of the time. It was so racially mixed that there was even a half-human half-alien main character, Spok. That was what was so great about it. My friend David Gerrold, who wrote The Trouble With Tribbles episode, told me that Eugene Roddenberry had a huge battle with the network to get a show with that kind of cast on the air. I also thought the Star Trek movies were great.
