Happy Birthday, Ms. Tallman! It has been many years but I was an ardent fan of STNG and DS9. I like your work with Penny Lane.

- Returning to Milwaukee…
One of the most interesting parts of Milwaukee baseball history is how many former Milwaukee Braves eventually returned to the city after the team moved to Atlanta in 1966.
When the Brewers arrived in 1970, several familiar faces from the Braves era came back as players, coaches, broadcasters, and instructors — helping reconnect Milwaukee to its baseball roots.
A big reason for that was Bud Selig. Growing up, Selig was a devoted Milwaukee Braves fan and fought hard to keep the team from leaving Wisconsin in the 1960s. After bringing baseball back to Milwaukee with the Brewers, he worked to reconnect the city with its Braves history — including helping bring back legendary former Braves players like Hank Aaron and others.
Here’s what some of those former Braves did after returning to Milwaukee:
• Hank Aaron — Returned as a Brewers player (1975–1976), hit his 755th and final home run in Milwaukee, and later served in executive and ambassador roles with the Brewers organization.
• Bob Uecker — Returned in 1971 as the Brewers radio broadcaster and became the legendary “Voice of the Brewers” for decades.
• Warren Spahn — While he never played or coached for the Brewers, Spahn remained closely connected to Milwaukee baseball through old-timers events, Brewers celebrations, charity appearances, and frequent returns to County Stadium.
• Felipe Alou — Played for the Milwaukee Braves from 1964–1965 and later returned to Milwaukee as a member of the 1974 Brewers.
• Phil Roof — Had brief stints with the Milwaukee Braves in 1961 and 1964, then returned as a catcher for the inaugural Brewers teams in 1970 and 1971.
• Del Crandall — Returned as a Brewers coach and worked in player development.
• Eddie Mathews — Came back as a Brewers coach and instructor.
• Johnny Logan — Returned as a Brewers coach, scout, and community representative.
For many Milwaukee fans, these returns meant more than baseball. They helped reconnect the city to the memories of County Stadium, the 1957 championship team, and an era when Milwaukee was one of baseball’s biggest towns ⚾
